Kyler Rose helps clients protect their innovations and their brands through patent and trademark prosecution. Kyler leverages his engineering background and his significant experience in the oil and gas industry to guide both large and small businesses through the intricacies of protecting and monetizing their intellectual property.
Kyler obtained his undergraduate degree from the Colorado School of Mines (2017) where he majored in petroleum engineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude. His engineering background laid the groundwork for his analytical skills and deep understanding of technical subjects.
Following his undergraduate studies, Kyler spent four years as a drilling engineer providing technical support to drilling rigs in North Dakota and Texas. Kyler’s hands-on experience gives him a more complete picture of clients’ inventions and how their inventions will be implemented.
Kyler also holds a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law (2024). Kyler focused his studies on intellectual property taking courses in patent law, advanced patent law, patent litigation, patent prosecution, patent advocacy, trademark law, copyright law, trade secret law, and name image and likeness (NIL) law. During law school, he also devoted over 100 hours to the Mithoff Pro Bono Program and was honored as a 2024 Pro Bono Torchbearer. As part of his pro bono efforts, Kyler aided local business owners and entrepreneurs in performing IP due diligence at the Small Business Trademark Counseling Clinic, drafted wills at the Wills Clinic, and successfully obtained parole for an incarcerated individual as part of the Mithoff Program’s Parole Project.
In his free time, Kyler enjoys exploring the outdoors with his wife and his black lab, traveling, and running – to date, he has completed 3 marathons and 3 ultra-marathons.
