Jake is an intellectual property and complex litigation attorney with experience before federal district courts, state courts in multiple jurisdictions, the International Trade Commission, in international arbitration, in post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and with Amazon’s internal enforcement proceedings. As a registered patent attorney, he combines litigation and patent prosecution experience to protect and enforce client rights in patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and high-stakes commercial disputes.
Jake’s dual experience in litigation and patent prosecution enables him to develop strategies for IP protection and enforcement. His work spans technologies ranging from mechanical devices, renewable energy, and autonomous vehicles to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity. As a former market research analyst for Tech Launch Arizona, Jake also brings a commercial perspective to his legal work, having evaluated the market potential, competitive positioning, and strategic opportunities of emerging products and technologies.
Before practicing law, Jake worked at Northrop Grumman, supporting the Minuteman III missile system in coordination with Hill Air Force Base. He earned his J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where he was active in the Intellectual Property Clinic and provided pro bono representation to innovators and creators.
A Colorado native, Jake enjoys spending time in the mountains with his wife and two children, hiking, camping, and making the most of the outdoors.
