Mark Ford is an intellectual property lawyer with broad and diverse experience encompassing both IP litigation and prosecution. He began his career in 2005 as an IP litigator, representing clients in courtrooms around the country. Mark then became active in post-grant practice, representing clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. While he continues to represent clients in litigation and post-grant matters, his practice now focuses primarily on patent prosecution, where he represents clients in their patent acquisition efforts both domestically before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and internationally. This expansive experience allows Mark to not only understand and apply complex legal theories to sophisticated technologies, but also allows Mark to view these theories and technologies from a variety of different angles and perspectives.
Mark is also an adjunct professor at the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he teaches a course on patent drafting.
Mark received his J.D. from George Mason University, where he was an editor for the George Mason Law Review and served as a judicial extern for Judge Randall R. Rader at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C.
In his free time, Mark enjoys traveling with his family. Mark and his family lived in New Zealand for several years where they fell in love with the country and the people.
