Patent Litigation • Trade Secret & Unfair Competition • Intellectual Property Licensing & Transactions

Sarah is an intellectual property litigator with over four years of experience in patent and trade secret litigation matters. She has experience in all phases of litigation, from case management and discovery to depositions and trials.  Because she has served as both plaintiff’s and defendant’s counsel on large-scale, complex litigation matters, Sarah offers a holistic point of view when identifying the strengths and weaknesses of a case.  Sarah understands that intellectual property disputes aren’t always confined to a country’s borders—she also has experience harmonizing concurrent domestic and foreign litigation and assisting with patent litigation matters abroad in Germany’s Regional Courts.

Her litigation experience spans a broad range of technologies, including remote controls, IoT systems, home security systems, antennas, printing mechanisms, cybersecurity packet encryption, vehicle telematics systems, DSL technologies, knit running shoes, electronic messaging systems, electric vehicle batteries, pathogen testing methods, and optical lenses.

Sarah is licensed to practice law in California, New York, Washington, D.C., and before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  Sarah graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) in 2020. While in law school, she studied international intellectual property licensing abroad at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany, was a National Quarterfinalist in the National Environmental Moot Court Competition, served as Editor-in-Chief of the Hastings Environmental Law Journal, and served as a research assistant on a paper for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on legislative and regulatory frameworks for family farming.  She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Geography and Environmental Studies from UCLA.

When she is not working, Sarah enjoys knitting scarves for charity, watching sports, learning languages, and hiking in National Parks.
