Cooper uses his background as a structural engineer to help clients assert and defend their valuable IP rights against infringement. He focuses his practice on complex intellectual property and corporate litigation, as well as copyright, trade secret, and contract disputes. Additionally, Cooper works to resolve disputes outside the courts through negotiation and mediation.

His experience as an engineer highlighted to him the significant impact that intellectual property rights play in product design and paved the way for him to become an intellectual property attorney. Cooper also gained insightful experiences in the construction industry as a structural engineer while working on residential and small commercial projects. These experiences give him a unique perspective to help resolve zoning and code compliance challenges, as well as an understanding of the business issues facing the industry.

Cooper found his interest in the law and desire to represent innovators during his time as the Academic Senator for the College of Engineering at Utah State University (2019-2021). His passion for advocating for engineering students motivated him to continue representing engineers and the companies they work for by obtaining a juris doctorate from the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University (2024).

Cooper attended Ohio State as a Barton Scholar, a program created by golf legend Jack Nicklaus for golfing law students in honor of Robert K. Barton. At Moritz, Cooper was the source editor for The Ohio State Technology Law Journal and part of the executive team for the Intellectual Property Law Society. Cooper was a member of multiple Moot Court Teams, including the winning 2023 Kaufman Securities Competition team. Cooper served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Edmund A. Sargus, Jr. in the Southern District of Ohio. Cooper was inducted into the Order of Barristers for high honor in courtroom advocacy.

Outside of the office, Cooper enjoys running marathons, golfing, and skiing. He still has a passion for residential design from his time as an engineer.
