Maschoff Brennan Receives Top Patent Prosecution Rankings by Patexia

Maschoff Brennan’s Patent Prosecution Group and members of the team were recognized by Patexia in its fifth annual Patent Prosecution Intelligence Report, which ranks the top 100 best-performing and most active patent law firms, lawyers, and patent agents. The report covers the period from January 1, 2018, through December 31, 2022, and evaluates a total of 2,332,609 patent applications and 1,846,457 granted patents.
Of the over 30,000 lawyers and patent agents evaluated, four Maschoff Brennan patent practitioners received several recognitions across Patexia’s national performance and activity rankings:
Yuefen Jennifer Zhou (patent agent) – Ranked #1, Best Performing Attorney in Biotech and Ranked #37, Most Active Attorney in Biotech
Burns Israelsen (patent attorney) – Ranked #7, Most Active Attorney in High-Tech and Ranked #9, Most Active Attorney Overall
Brent Johnson (patent attorney) – Ranked #41, Best Performing Attorney in Biotech
Andrew Lee (patent attorney) – Ranked #93, Best Performing Attorney Overall
Maschoff Brennan also received several recognitions at the firm level, most notably the Best Performing Law Firms in Biotech (2nd), Most Active Law Firms in High-Tech (51st), Best Performing Law Firms in High-Tech (59th), Most Active Law Firms Overall (63rd), and Most Active Law Firms in Biotech (64th).
Patexia selected the best performing firms, lawyers, and patent agents based on such factors as “success” (obtaining a patent or patent claim from the perspective of the applicant, law firm, or attorney); “quality” (the broadness, novelty, and market coverage that ultimately make a patent or a claim valuable); and “efficiency” (the speed and simplicity of the process of obtaining a patent).
