Charles Barquist and Sterling Brennan Recognized by Southern California Super Lawyers

Maschoff Brennan is proud to announce that Shareholders Charles Barquist and Sterling Brennan have again been included in the Southern California Super Lawyers list for 2023. Special recognition is being awarded to Charles Barquist for his inclusion 20 years in a row – every year Super Lawyers has been in existence.

Charles Barquist – IP Litigation: Charles Barquist is a trial lawyer and IP litigator. His practice is focused on business litigation, including patents and other intellectual property, antitrust and unfair competition, and dispute resolution for technology companies. Mr. Barquist has achieved outstanding results in patent litigation for several foreign and domestic clients in U.S. courts and before the International Trade Commission. Other patent litigation has involved technologies such as smartphones, virtual cameras, medical lasers, hard disk drives, infrared thermometers, rechargeable batteries, digital satellite receivers, and environmental stress screening equipment. Mr. Barquist is also a leader in the California legal community. He has served as president of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association, as chair of the USC Gould School of Law Intellectual Property Institute, and as chair of the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Section and the International Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He has also served as Chair of the Institute for Corporate Counsel in Los Angeles and currently serves as a member of its Board of Governors.

Sterling Brennan – IP Litigation: Sterling Brennan’s practice is focused on a broad range of business and intellectual property litigation. He has litigated cases involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, securities, antitrust, unfair business practices, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate disputes, insurance coverage, and environmental claims. He is represented some of the country’s largest companies involved in the software and computer components, smart home, solar and traditional energy, financial products and services, biotechnology, health services, energy, and real estate industries. Mr. Brennan has tried cases and handled appeals in federal and state courts throughout the country. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California and Utah, as well as before the Ninth, Tenth, and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Brennan is the former chair of the Business Litigation Section of the Orange County Bar Association and the past chair of the Orange County J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
