Sterling Brennan’s practice is focused on a broad range of business and intellectual property litigation. He has litigated cases involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, securities, antitrust, unfair business practices, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate disputes, insurance coverage, and environmental claims. He’s represented some of the country’s largest companies involved in the software and computer components, smart home, solar and traditional energy, financial products and services, biotechnology, health services, energy, and real estate industries. Mr. Brennan has tried cases and handled appeals in federal and state courts throughout the country. He’s admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California and Utah, as well as before the Ninth, Tenth, and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Brennan is the former chairman of the Business Litigation Section of the Orange County Bar Association and the past chair of the Orange County J. Reuben Clark Law Society. After law school, Mr. Brennan served as a law clerk to a federal district judge in Los Angeles. He joined the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster, where he was a litigation partner until 2003, then joined Workman Nydegger (an intellectual property firm in Utah). In 2013, Mr. Brennan joined with colleagues to form Maschoff Brennan, where he was the chair of the firm’s robust litigation practice.
