Maschoff Brennan Welcomes Two New Associate Attorneys to Our Team

August 17, 2021

Maschoff Brennan is pleased to announce the hiring of two attorneys, Tyler A. Dever, and Ryan A. Cook.  Both will serve as associate attorneys supporting our firms’ growing litigation department.

“Ryan and Tyler are bringing significant experience and industry knowledge to our firm,” said Litigation Practice Chair C.J. Veverka. “We have tremendous confidence in them and know they will have a positive impact on our ability to serve our clients both now and in the future.”

Tyler A. Dever will call our Salt Lake City office home and focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation spanning all types of intellectual property issues including trademark infringement, patent litigation, trade dress, trade secret, and copyright infringement.  She also counsels clients on a wide range of business issues from fiduciary duty requirements to employer/employee matters.

During law school, Tyler served as a member of the George Mason Law Review and the George Mason Moot Court Team. Tyler is admitted to practice in both Utah and the District of Columbia and has been practicing law since she was admitted to the Bar in 2015.  Prior to joining Maschoff Brennan, Tyler was a shareholder at another respected Utah law firm.  She currently serves as the Treasurer for the Labor and Employment Section of the Utah State Bar.

Ryan A. Cook is a seasoned litigator with experience across a wide range of complex business and intellectual property matters.  He has been the lead associate on matters involving billion-dollar products. Ryan also has significant experience litigating patent disputes, especially pharmaceutical (Hatch-Waxman) and biotechnology cases.  He has also litigated trademark, copyright, and contract disputes and has assisted with antitrust matters.  Ryan has advocated for his clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Bureau of Consumer Protection, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and several state attorneys general.

Ryan’s practice covers the area where technology and multimedia converge.  Prior to law school, Ryan developed video game software for well-known American and Japanese video game companies.  Ryan’s games have appeared on Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony platforms.  Ryan will be based out of the firm’s Salt Lake City office.
